Hello
I am about to agree on taking up a teaching job at the Doha Academy as a mathematics teacher. Apart from the experience of living in Qatar which I intend to enjoy (!!!), I would like an advice on what a good salary would be (obviously, the main reason is to save money) for a teacher.
I have been looking at various searched areas and Im aware the accommodation is expensive. Any advice is greatly appreciated (fast)
Regards MB. |

Minimum salary of 11,000 QR per month would be reasonable, especially at Qatar Academy which receives a lot of funding (that's if they pay for your accomodation) If they give you a housing allowance, you should be getting at least 7000 QR a month (even for a single person) and YES housing here is THAT expensive............ |

Thank you for the reply QatarChic
Negotiations will start tomorrow, and I will be looking at 13000 /month and may go down to 11000. This of course will be with accommodation provided.
P.S. the school is Doha Academy and not Qatar Academy.
Thanx again (MB) |

Hi Arabstar,
You're welcome
ooops- my mistake- I have heard good things about Qatar Academy as a friend used to work there (has since gone back to the UK) don't know much about Doha academy I'm afraid- yes 13000 Qr is also very reasonable, teachers at Doha College get around a minimum of 15000QR per month.
Good luck |
