This is sort of a last minute thing but I'd like to be wearing the poppy on my chest this week. Being away from Canada for a year and a half makes me really wish I could have one to wear right now. Anybody know if I can pop into the Canadian embassy and pick one (or 2 or 3) up? |

I don't know, but you could always try the British Embassy if you get no joy at the Canadian. Or even the British Council. I will respect it if you don't wear one for inflammatory reasons. |

Drop by tomorrow and you'll be able to get one. I think I saw some there today.
You'll also find 35 Canadian univeristies and colleges there for a Higher Education Fair (10-6pm), so you'll probably be able to talk to your alma mater and feel all natsukashii as well! |

Not sure if it's that inflammatory since Armistice Day is for WW1 which Japan was not really a participant in the war and was an ally of the British |

No.
The poppy appeal is for all members of the British (and Commonwealth) Armed Forces. It was set up after the First World War by Douglas Haig (one of the idiots most responsible for making it necessary) but that does't mean it exclusively commemorates First World War servicemen and women. |
