I see job postings from many Asian countries, but none from the Philippines. What gives? No need for TESOL/TEFL?? No opportunities for non-natives??
Thanks. |

Teaching Jobs Philippines,Teaching jobs Cebu. TESL or ESL in Cebu. Teaching English as a Second Language TESL or English as a Second Language ESL.

This may be something for an expat to look into? Teaching jobs Philippines, Teaching Jobs Cebu. There are several English schools in Cebu and Cebu City. Also there are many teaching jobs throughout the Philippines. Many are operated by Koreans and many more by American, British and Australian companies.
Many Native English speaking expats living in Cebu and throughout the Philippines that are not retired are teaching ESL/TESL. Some are doing this as an additional income and some as volunteers. Teaching Jobs Philippines, Teaching Jobs Cebu are available. However, most teaching jobs are not advertised. Therefore, you must contact the schools via your resume/CV. Teaching TESL requires you be a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
Many of these Teaching Jobs Philippines, Teaching Jobs Cebu are work at home via computer and webcam and many more are working directly at the schools. Some are full time positions and some are part time. There are several online teaching companies in Manila. Teaching for an online company means you can stay home in Cebu and work a few hours a day on your computer.
Working directly with the schools doing face to face classes is loads of fun. I started teaching as an ESL/TESL teacher and enjoy every minute of my classes. This gives me the opportunity to make a little money, but more importantly enjoy life. All you need is a BA/BS in any field. This is true for most, but not all of the schools. I highly recommend you get your ESL/TESL certification. This will give you more credibility when looking for a teaching position. The Certification training can be done online and takes just a short time to complete. Three years ago I completed the i-to-i TEFL certification and it took me just about three weeks to complete. They were very helpful and I was assigned my own tutor. The tutor emailed daily for the help I needed. I think it's a great program.
Many Asian countries are struggling to find Native Speaking ESL/TESL teachers. China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand are just a few of the Asian countries looking for teachers. Salaries vary greatly by country and by the type of teaching format. Your Salary for Online teaching may just be an hourly wage. Direct teaching salaries can go from just $200.00 monthly to $2,500.00 depending on the country and school. Many schools offer free housing and flight reimbursement.
