Hello Everybody, I'm a UK citizen who's just bought a plane ticket for Chile flying out early January 2007.I was under the impression that I would have a 90 day tourist visa that would last me till March when the real work and contracts start. However, in the travel agents the paperwork states 30 days. I'm going to ring the Consulate but could anybody give me some advice in this area. I don't want to but I can change my ticket to feb if need me. Laters. Alex

Hey Jack,

I'm also from the UK and have been in Chile for 2 months. I will have to do the visa run soon!

A tourist visa allows you 90 days as stated in the following:

Regards,

Juliet

Thanks for the reply Juliet. Now, the Consulate seem serious that you can't get a work visa after you've entered the country on a tourist visa. The general consensus on this site seems to be it's better to organise a contract after you arrive as the ones before you arrive are a bit dodgy. Can anybody give me any advice? I have a TEFL and experience and I'd rather have a proper contract. Thanks.
