I have reached the second stage of the application process for Kansai Gaidai. What is it like to work there?
Are the hours, 'other duties', demands on staff, reasonable?
Is the salary adequate to cope with the cost of living, taxes, etc. (and make some savings)?
Can one do additional work, e.g. night classes, tutoring, to enhance income?
Any problems I haven't thought of?[/b] |

Salary will depend upon your age, experience and qualifications. I am sure it would be adequate, but this is all relative to what you expect. |

I would not recommend the place. PM me for details. |

You'll probably start at 4,000,000 yen a year with no bonuses. That's pretty low for university teachers, but you'll get a really nice apartment for free (which makes your salary really closer to about 5,000,000). It's a great apartment - really big and modern. The only problem is that it's in Hirakata.
You probably won't have time to teach privates because Kansai GaiDai teachers work five days a week, teaching 10-12 koma. |
