Does anybody know where I might be able to buy the CD's that go with the Cutting Edge series? Levels 1-5 plus CD's for workbooks.

There's a big arcade in Kadıky that sells some original books and some really good copies, and might have the CDs. Otherwise there's a Longmans dealer in Kad too, but they are brand new originals so you're looking at well over 50ytl for each book and CD I think.

The bookshop in Besiktas opposite the naval museum has all CE stuff.
Alternatively give Ozcan a ring at Longman. His office(Longman) is in Bakirkoy.

EDIT I couldn't remember the name of the bookshop. But after two cups of espresso I have remembered. Kabalci

Thanks for the tips - I'm popping out today on a Cutting Edge mission.

As for the tractor: Having never worked on a farm and not being from the US, all that can be said is...

- I just like it...!

nb. Did you ever hear the one about the magic tractor? If went down a lane and turned into a field. Exclamation

I've been told the avatar of the tractor is too big, so it's been replaced with a badly burnt lawnmower. I don't know any lawnmower jokes, sorry....

It's a beautiful day in the middle of the 1970's, and a snail is ambling through the lush, green grass of someone's lawn, love in his little snail heart. He's feeling so happy, he begins to sing a song of love:
"Chaansooon d'amoouur..."
then an old-fashioned manual rotary mower rips his head off -
"rat-a-tat-a-tat!"
note: this joke was unearthed from a clay tablet found in the ruins of Nineveh, where it is believed the inhabitants apparently took great enjoyment from programmes such as The Comedians, Love Thy Neighbour, The Black And White Minstrel Show, and Harry Secombe on Sunday afternoons, just before Last Of The Summer Wine. This probably explains why they were too c.rap to continue as a civilisation.

This isn't mine, honest.

Quote:
When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my lovely wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the truck, the car, fishing, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point.

When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.

I was gone only a few minutes. When I came out again I handed her a toothbrush.
"When you finish cutting the grass," I said,"you might as well sweep the driveway and sidewalk."

Thought there might be a good way to combine "cutting edge" with "lawnmower". Any ideas?

^I almost guessed the end of that joke. I thought the toothbrush was for cleaning the toilet.

That would have been a better punchline. Oh well, looks like I'll be doing EFL a bit longer.
