I have my initial telephone inteview this week with English First. No specific country discussed yet. Any word on working for them? Things to get nailed down if we proceed?
This forum is outstanding for a newbie working to leave the states and teach overseas.

Syntax 51, I have no direct knowledge of working with EF. They have Centers all over the globe. I always thought their salaries a bit on the low side though anytime I did consider them . If you're looking for teaching experience or to start in a country that might otherwise be difficult then why not |

I don't have time to go into details, but as a teacher who has taught in many bad places, I can assure you that EF Saudi was the worst. If all the crap that happened hadn't been happening to me, I would have laughed my a*** off at the sheer absurdity of it all (I do laugh now). Don't deal with ADI (which runs EF Saudi as well as EF in a few other Gulf countries). But, anyway, EF is franchised, so you can't say very much about one school from experiences in another, unless of course they have the same owner. |

It is the most corrupt organization, so it does not matter where it is or who manages it.
Peace to the old man who've founded it
and
cheers and beers to the EF Head Office in Switzerland as well as the Swiss banking system |

if you do not need to work for EF, do not ever do it;
if you have no choice, and EF is a clasic starter for people who only launch their tefl careers, then find out details of their teaching load, both timing as well as age groups and levels; you will have to cater for all ESL needs on this planet; this is a truly fiendish thing how they turn contact hours into actual classes; with EF expect the worst and you will probably be not be disappointed;
if you have other choices, do consider them;
good luck,
