|
|
I've been asked to get in touch with a teacher in Japan (possibly Kanto area) named Andrew Storer.
I've never met the man and don't really need to know anything about him. I just need to know if he is in Japan.
If Andrew, or anybody who knows him, could send me a private message then that would be great. No confidences need be broken.
There's no reward for this, save the chance to bring a bit of happiness around Christmas time!
Many thanks. |

Just to get the ball rolling,
Your request for information on some random teacher named Andrew Storer with no explanation about why you were told to contact him or who he is leaves a lot to be desired.
How do we know that you're not looking for the whereabouts of Andrew Storer to do him harm? How do we know that Andrew Storer didn't sleep with your wife back in your hometown and then flee to Japan to escape your deadly wrath? How do we know that Andrew Storer isn't your business partner in an illegal Mexican drug smuggling operation that double crossed you and left you for dead and now you've come to Japan to kill or be killed (kinda like Blow meets Kill Bill)?
I can hear the movie preview voice guy right now saying "WHERE IS ANDREW STORER?" and then Mel Gibson screaming into a phone "Give me back my illegal Mexican drug smuggling operation." |

CWAY, why such a sarcastic response? Why say anything at all?
Andrew Storr might be her ex-boyfriend, and she's feeling an emptiness in her life now that they've broken up and so she just wants to re-connnect with him. Maybe she's dieing of cancer and has only one month to live, and this is her last chance to see him? Or maybe she's coming to Japan soon and would like to see a friend she hasn't seen in a long time?
I wish people wouldn't be so cynicial and sarcastic.
Peace and Love. |

Hmm... I'd also like to belive that people in general are well-intentioned and have a noble purpose in mind -- but unfortunately, as sarcastic as c-way's response may have been, I'd say his view probably reflects the world at large whether we care to admit it or not. Both possibilities, yours are and exist and are equally valid. Sarcasm aside, he may not be too far off the mark -- this being the Internet, we don't know who ANYONE is.... GreenCardigan, even you could be a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, or a terrorist.... Oh, wait. Bad example. But I hope you get my point.
If the shoe were on the other foot, and someone were going around the Internet asking for the whereabouts of Jim Dunlop, I would hope that my friends would not assume they were doing me a favour by jumping to the aid of a perfect stranger without having an inkling of WHO was asking and WHY -- and whether or not they were truthful. Even in my own life there are people who don't know my whereabouts -- and it's nice to keep it that way and by NOT divulging such personal information about me you are indeed showing me Peace and Love.... |

I'm with Jim on this too. Perhaps if diva could post a reason and YOUR NAME and contact info, then if we know Andrew we can pass the info onto him and he can choose to contact you or not. |

I know him. Pack a briefcase full of bundles of ten-thousand yen notes, and meet me on the bridge in Nihonbashi, central Tokyo at midnight tonight. If you aren't alone, the whole deal's off.
Oh, and your passphrase is 'Sarah Brightman isn't exactly a diva, but I am, nudge nudge wink wink'. |

Along with all the reasons listed by the posters above,
my sarcastic response also got the ball rolling as I said. Now 5 other people have posted and the rather ridiculous and random inquiry on the whereabouts of Andrew Storer for reasons undisclosed has yet to fall into obscurity.
Even you, Green Cardigan, who has posted only four times, have stepped up to comment and keep the post going.
And if I hadn't commented, where would the post be?
I daresay at the bottom. |

C-way, I think you're one funny S.O.B. Thanks for the amusing post. It certainly kept this thread from hitting the bottom quickly. |

I can categorically say that there isn't anything dodgy about this post. I am actually Andrew Storer's brother Robert and haven't seen him for 9 years since he left England and decided not to keep in touch with friends, family or relatives.
This is part of an extended search in hope that we can know he is safe and well and may potentially lead to us making contact again.
Any posting knowing any details about him would be really helpful.
Thanks

Well...now you all know why I was looking for Andrew. I wouldn't normally be seen dead on this forum but I was acting out of the unlimited kindness of my heart.
By the way, Rob, I should have more news for you by this weekend. |

At least there is an explanation.
Diva, if you hate this place so much, why do you want other's help? At least you picked an appropriate moniker. |
