Hi. I guess this question is for Canadians. Have you ever NOT taken out health insurance? You are covered for all non-elective work done on you up to what it would cost in Canada through OHIP and whatever it's called in other provinces.
I'm leaving for China shortly and am really tempted to avoid getting extra insurance. What have you done in the past? What do you think? Etc? |

I would check that again carefully if I were you. I'm not sure that OHIP will cover you outside Canada anymore. It used to, but the current regime went on a cutting spree and I think that's one of the areas they cut. Get your school to pay for it if you can.
