Can anyone advise about which universities are the top-paying institutions in the Tokyo area? Also, how much do they pay per koma? If they don't work on a per-koma system, how much do they pay per class?

What are your qualifications?
What kind of experience do you have?
Can you speak Japanese?
Do you live in Japan?
Are you eligible for a visa?

Generally, some institutions pay better than others. I've been in the system for about 3 years and this is some of my research. It is rather impolite to call or e-mail the schools to ask them how much they pay.

As far as payrates go, MOST places pay p/t teachers the SAME rate reagrdless of age, education, and experience. There are some instances in which they do adjust salary accordingly.

Anyway, if they pay well for one course they generally pay well for all their courses. If they don't, they don't. The reason I am posting this is because I already know some of the schools but I would like to know which others are potential workplaces for me. Obviously I don't want to waste my time applying to schools that pay less than the ones I teach at now. It also seems that the rank of a school (as far as prestige etc.) has little to do with payrates.

Anyway, if there are any schools out there that pay between 30,000 and 40,000 per koma, that's what I'd like to know. Anyone?

Well only if you send me some of your leads. I require at least twenty institutions with full details and I want them by this time tomorrow. Don't waste my time with anything low paying and by the way it is upon you to figure out what I mean when I say low-paying. Well don't just sit there get to it.

I believe Aoyama Gakuin University pays 27,500 per koma.

Nothing. Things are going great, thanks. Just trying to add some good possibilities to my filing cabinet for future reference. No harm in that. I figure the best way to get the info. is by getting people out there to share. That's why I posted. The people that started asking a batch of needless questions and making jokes about it (at least what they thought was funny) goes to show that some people like to waste time. I can assure you that those are the ones who seem to be lacking in their careers.

Frankly, I couldn't give a rats behind whether joe shmo says that my original post was to vague and / or general. I talk to other teachers all the time and we discuss which schools pay well and which don't. Again, it's that simple, some pay well and some don't. I would prefer to stick to the former. There ae so many schools in the Kanto area that the only way to find out this info. is by getting it from people who either worked somewhere directly or know the situation there.
