what do they do to you if you have overstayed and can't pay the fine for your overstay? do they detain you, deport you, detain you until you can pay then deport you? anyone with info on this sensitive matter?
who pays for being deported--do you pay when you retrurn to your home country later on?
.............knowledge never hurts |

If you overstay then you are going to be responsible for any overstay penalty. You will also be responsible for the costs of repatriation as no one else is going to pay this for you.
Should you genuinely have no money to pay the fine and buy a ticket out of the country then it seems inevitable that you will be incarcerated until such time as someone comes up with the money.
There are enough foreign blue collar workers in such situations to attest to this fact, but I doubt that there are very few white collars, but an illegal is an illegal so I'm sure the authorities won't make a distinction in this regard. |
