Hey, I was wondering if you could help me.
I am interested in PNET/SNET scheme and was wondering, is it nessacary to have full-time work experince prior to applying!?

I've looked on the EMB website and cant find the answer to the Q!

No it's not.
You can join the scheme with only a degree in any subject.

yes anyone can be a pnet in hong kong ....we have ex bus drivers and painters....in hong kong there is no status given to teaching. all one needs is a uni degree in anything....you can have a degree in landscaping or accounting and you can get a teaching job....as long as you have a degree and speak english then the teaching aspect isnt a worry.....roll up roll up

I think there is more to it than that. I believe, that due to shortages of REAL teachers, you can now be a PNET or SNET without a degree. As long as you have some kind of diploma. Also you don't need to be a native speaker these days - as long as you have some command of English. So you could be an Eskimo or something, but speak passable English and have a diploma in Whale Management and you'd be eligible to be on the NET scheme. And while the EMB will take anyone with passable English, of any colour or creed - the same cannot be said of individual schools. Good luck.
