Just wondering if anyone can suggest a cheap hotel to stay a few days, and/or hostel, or a place to share?
I realize I'm coming in the slow season, late November, but any ideas on work? Language mills, corp training cos, and so on. If only to get set up for later.
I seem to recall a hostel near the Zocalo, and some hotels nearby. What about Reforma area around Chaputepec Metro?
Appreciate any tips, and I'd like to network on a social and business level with anyone like-minded. Free wireless, private students, and such.
Great to hear from you.
Great to get your feeback!! |

Can we assume . . .
. . . that you're asking about Mexico City? |

...and those insider secrets...don't forget the insider secrets...I can't sleep at night thinking what those secrets must have been.
Vancanman, you could try Casa Vieja next to metro Sevilla as a hostel to land in. I've always recommended Hotel Oxford near metro Revolucion for being fairly cheap with spacious rooms. |

There's also my faves, Hotel Havana and Hotel Cuba, handily located in the same street, right near the Zocalo.
Guy, can you remember the address?
(disclaimer: for all you naughty-minded people out there, Guy knows the address because he very chivalrously helped me get a reservation (which the hotel denied all knowledge of)) |

Yeah, Oxford has a strangeness for losing reservations...however, they aren't often full in my experience.
Ignacio Mariscal 67 is the Oxford address. Their telephone number is 55660500. I can't recall the addies for Cuba and Havana...maybe a quick search will find them, or check into an LP or LG guide.
No extra charge for the free porn channel.

I wish we had all pitched in to a general fund and bought the trade secrets for the whole forum to share.
There are cheap hotels all over the city, you don't need to stay in a hostel to get a deal. THere are also cheap motels all over the city.
Good luck
29 Bolivar is Hotel Principal and they're kind of friendly. THe top floor are sleeper rooms with shared bathroom for like 90 pesos a night, 2 blocks from Bellas Artes. It's minimalist. |
