The Philippines, where ghost spends a lot of time when not working, is ranked as the most "friendly country" in the world toward new migrants.....with Thailand at the bottom in friendliness toward new migrants.
Taiwan - another country where ghost taught and studied Mandarin (2005-06) also ranked very poorly in its treatment of new migrants.
Turkey, had a surprisingly poor ranking in the tables, with regard to their friendliness toward new migrants (not to be confused with tourists).
Check this out.

Interesting.
But seems like most 'migrants' to Philippines are generally people bringing in jobs or on retirement. Totally different calibre of people go there.
When in Thailand..you just have TONS of.. well.. Thai's seem kind of like service workers to a whole bunch of people all over the place running around spending money lavishly 'on vacation'. |
