My boyfriend and I are looking to work in Latin America this summer. We're 23 and 30 and both have Bachelor's degrees (mine is in English). I worked two summers ago teaching English in Mexico City but it was a job I found through a friend while already living there.
We're not particular at all about which country we go to. The catch is that we're only looking for employment for the summer. We only need to make enough money to cover our costs (covering the airfare would be nice too but is not absolutely essential). We want to go to improve our Spanish and to enjoy a new and different culture.
He is certified in TESL; I am not - but I could get certification before we go.
If anyone could provide suggestions as to where to look for work, etc, I'd really appreciate it. We'd want to start either in May or June and work until September or October.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
For the short period that you want to stay to teach, I'd recommend Mexico as a location to teach in Latin America. South America is a little more difficult, and even Mexican ESL schools want you to stay at least 6 months.
I've more info on our website regarding job placement in Latin America if it interests you. www.innovative-english.com

Thanks for the reply, Guy.
Mexico isn't our first choice if only because I did live there for a summer already (not that that's enough to get to know the country!). As well the cost of the TESL program that your site talks about is rather.... prohibitive.
Wish me luck!
