I would like to teach english in argentina and want to know what are the requirements for teaching. Do you need a TEFL certificate or CELTA? I have my BA degree and would like any information. More specifically i would like to know is if there is any possibility of teaching without the TEFL certificate, and only with a B.A degree... Is that possible? Anyone out there know anything about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you very much in advance,
Julian |

Speaking from my own teaching experience in BsAs, I'd say it helps to be trained. Im now teaching in Madrid but I started out in BsAs. Looking back, I'm glad I was trained and had actually done some teaching practice classes because a lot of the Argentinian students I taught did know grammar and most of them were quite demanding. They wanted to learn and asked a lot of questions , luckily I had a humongous grammar reference manual which came with my course material which proved to be worth its weight in gold. So yes - I'd recommend getting a TEFL cert and make sure you remember what they teach you because youll be surprised what you can be asked out there! Now in Madrid, I still get demanding students, they're also good at grammar , the advanced ones at least, so yes, for the self confidence edge, or just knwoing what you have to teach in the first place ! - it's worth getting some TEFL training.
