Did anyone go there and realize how amazingly good-looking Sichuan people are!! I was so shocked and amazed!! Am I the only one?

Dunno, maybe I am too old to be gourmand in these matters...
Last time I was in SIchuan, all the natives looked remarkably like Chinese.
I could say more about their food or about CHengdu, Chongqing and other places.

All I know is, about 1,000 girls from SIchuan were brought to South China and forced into prostitution in the last year? or two...or maybe that was Hunan, I forget. Anyway, the people of China have been moving around, "mixing" for a few hundred years; it's pretty much impossible to tell where someone is from by their looks alone. Accent is more the marker than anything. I suppose in the mid 1800s it would have been possible to say "oh, he/she is from such and such area/place", but not now. As Roger said, they look Chinese!

The exception could be some of the non Han people in the upper west regions such as Yunan and the like

Well, you guys live in China.. so you can probably tell..

I've been to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Kunming.. and I thought the people looked significantly different..

Sichuan girls seemed a little taller and darker.. saw a kind of lighter brown eye pupil.. a little thicker hair.. etc..

Shanghai girls had a slightly bigger eye pupils than Beijing girls.. and just slightly darker skin.. not much.. but a little..

Anyhow, if everyone in China supposedly looks exactly alike and everyone mixed up so much that no one can tell anything.. then how do you explain hundreds of different dialects throughout the country? How do retain their particular dialect? And if they are, wouldn't it be safe to assume that similar genetics are passed along..

Well, for example, lets go to Spanish-speaking Latin American countries.. they all speak Spanish.. but different people settled in different places.. and Argentines do look different from Cubans who also look different from Mexicans.. for example..

Well, Tiger Beer, you need to speak one of these dialects yourself if you want to know why they speak them! Most Chinese are at home in a couple of them, some in many, many. SInce they are dialects, not languages, they can be picked up more quickly. Some Shanghainese or northerners speak Cantonese within 6 months of moving south. SOme never acquire them.
Of course, there are some variations in the physique of the people, but it is difficult to generalise about natives defined along provincial lines. In general, northerners stand taller than Chinese from central or south CHina, girls are bustier too. Cantonese tend to be dark-skinned. Many feel inferior because of this!
I guess it is easier to identify local Chinese by their eating habits (and mother dialects) than by physique. However, in cities the intermingling is very pronounced. True local Chinese can only be found in peasant villages.
And, of course, in "minority-'inhabited areas - some of which are being maintained artificially for the tourist dollars they generate. In SIchuan, go to the Tibetan-inhabited counties to the west!

The only thing I've heard about women around here are:
Taiwan women are sweet
Guangdong women are ugly (because of the sun darkened skin)
NE women smoke

I've lived in all parts of China and Chengdu women are definitely the hottest and most easy to approach women. When I'm in Chengdu I always have no problems finding girls not like the hole I'm in now called Shijiazhuang, Hebei. I lived in Chongqing also, a place that has a reputation for beautiful women, I don't know why. Chengdu is as comparable with beautiful women as Montreal. I found Chongqing people angry and was yelled at 3 times on the street by men for no apparent reason. One guy went on and on for about 15 minutes saying things like I looked like his dick. My Chinese girlfriend finally got up from playing marjom and took a piece out of him and in 10 seconds he was running away, Chinese men are so brave. The other 2 I approached saying "it is what"? in Chinese and they shut right up--real heros.

Nice info.

I haven't been to Chongqing.. but was curious about it.. but sounds like very provincial minded.

I have been to Chengdu.. and stunning.. Leshan even moreso - but nothing to do in that town - too small. Actually I found myself a bit bored in Chengdu for nightlife and otherwise. But its been about 4 years since I've been there.. so maybe its changed now.

I lived in Sichuan for four years and I must say that the girls there (and in Chongqing) are, as a whole, the most beautiful ones. They are not only physically gorgeous, but down-to-earth, bright yet childlike, and just plain lovable. Just try not to piss off a girl from Chongqing, as they tend to have a temper. In my view, Chengdu girls are generally great. Nonetheless, the girls outside of Chengdu are often even better. They may usually not dress as well or may have silly ideas about foreign men, but quite a few are really exceptional in many ways. In sum, I've never lived or traveled anywhere in the world where I saw and met so many beautiful women.

After my first six months there, I met the woman that later became my wife. We married about a year after we met and we've been together for four years. Her family is small and made of awesome yet ordinary folk. My taitai is, *by far*, the best woman I have ever met, anywhere in the world, and that definitely includes my "home", which is the USA.
