I'm looking at jobs in Asia, mostly Japan and Korea and its seems most jobs available all start from ASAP to late April. A friend is getting married early June, and I wouldn't miss it for anything. Will there still be this many jobs available starting mid June? If possible, I'd like to get a contract now for June, but if I can't will I have missed the bus? I'm sure different countries all have different times when there are many jobs, does mid-June resonate with any particular area that nayone knows of?
A little about me quickly - I have no certification, I have a Masters degree in creative writing and I've taught poetry classes through a community organization (if that counts for anything). I'm 25, working as a paralegal in Mahattan, can't wait to quit.
Thanks much! |

The majority of jobs start in April in Japan because that is the beginning of the academic year, and even a lot of conversation schools follow that schedule. Come at any other time, and there will simply be fewer opportunities.
June is moderately slow, but you have the basic credentials to get entry level work. With proper planning, you should have as good a chance as most people to find something, probably as a conversation school instructor. |

In Korea there will be a small rush for hiring in mid-June as the universities and colleges will finish their semesters near the end of June and everyone will head to the hogwans, thus teacher demand will increase.
With your credentials though, I would suggest fishing at worst for a university hogwan with promise that you can switch over to a regular university position when school starts again in September. |
