Me and my wife almost have our bachelors degree in English. We are both going to go for the CELTA. My wifes family lives in Vienna so we would like to be close to them..My questions:

-Where is the best place to get the CELTA in Mid Euro area?
-Is is possible that I bring my child with me who is three?
-Is there schooling for my child in Slovakia, CZ, Hugary?

I think this is all. We will have help from my wife's family also.

Prague is a training centre mecca - you can certainly find a course there. Budapest probably also has a CELTA; this would be easy to google.

Of course you can bring your child, legally speaking. Schooling is an issue, however - if you want him/her in an English stream school system, this can be quite expensive. Further, there will be scheduling issues - teachers often work early mornings and evenings.

Most private language schools in the region cater primarily to businesspeople and a significant portion of a teaching day is spent traveling to the offices of your students.

Living on two teaching salaries and supporting a child will be challenging throughout the region. Rents are the most serious issue; the cost of housing is relatively high. Single teachers usually earn enough to live all right, assuming shared housing. Don't count on making enough to pay off debts in the US or to travel extensively outside of the country you live in.

I doubt if there is ANYWHERE in Europe, East or West, North or South, where you could earn enough to have a reasonable life as a TEFLer couple with dependent child.

Well, I get people saying that about going to college with a dependent child. Right now me and my wife are full time students. I am sure it can be done. It will be a combination of help from family and friends in Switzerland and Austria also.

Also what is the cost of living in Bratislava or Budapest? I would like to live in the area for like a year so I can gain experience. I will have $8,000 saved up to help supplement my stay..
