Oh, but the raving applause this guy receives do put me in a fighting mood!
Maybe I do not understand him well enough - I have only read an introduction to his latest book. Then again, anyone who brazenly defends the notion that one can acquire a second tongue without studying grammar in a formal way is a living provocation.
I feel since N. Chomsky there have been too many guys ptrying to prove the existence of a perpetuum mobile, or the "uselessness" of rules to govern a language. I deem this as too much antiauthorianism. |
