Quintana Roo? Where's that? Cancun...ahhhh, yes. Qunitana Roo is part of the Yucatan peninsula on the Caribbean, and while Cancun usually comes to mind first, it is host to other places, not the least of which is Playa del Carmen. Other places mentioned in Quintana Roo include Chetumal, Cozumel, Tulum, and the Belize border. General state info right here

I think the general consensus is that it is not incredibly easy to find language school teaching jobs anywhere on the Mexican Riviera and when you do, pay will not be spectacular. Cost-of-living will be very high if you want to experience it as a resort, but better if you can learn to live like a local. I am not sure on university or private school jobs, but I don't believe they are plentiful.

Timing is going to be key as well if you are looking for a language school job. Winter draws a lot of snowbirds, so competition for any jobs will be fierce. You may do better by looking around off season.

Playa del Carmen hosts International House and a CELTA course.
