|
|
I am currently in Korea and want to head to Taipei to find work. I also want to look at the school before signing on the dotted line. When is the best time to come? How easy is it to find a job? What are the start up costs? I was thinking of coming late February to early March.
I am sure these questions have before, but if someone culd provide me with some info that would be great.
Thanks |

Did you mean to direct the OP to the search engine or were you actually attempting to link some pertinent info?
Either way is fine. But if you'd intended the latter, you failed.
If sarcasm was your goal, well done sir. You are learning.
A warning.
Many interneters lack a sarcasm detector. This can lead to misunderstanding and ostracization. Only the toughest of hides should attempt it at all. However, Dave's is a good training ground. I'm sure as your Taiwanure builds, you'll find other, more harrowing halls to ply your wits.

I did intend for the link to direct to the search engine, as we see so many posts by people expecting to get all the answers regurgitated for them ad nauseum by those who frequent this message board for other reasons.
Not to say that fresh and insightful questions arent fun to answer, and there are always more than enough of the veteran posters willing to post on those.
But, when a simple search can illict 275 results for "when to arrive", 1210 results for "job search", 133 results for "newbie questions", and 659 results for "start up costs" one must wonder if the OP has done their due diligence in searching/reading first.
may the farce be with you

These kinds of boards tend to get alot of the same questions again and again. It just comes with the genre. Actually, this particular forum is especially prone to repeats as most people who are using it are newbs who will ask a few questions and disappear. Often users don't know enough about the site and aren't proficient enough at using message boards, in general, to know to do a search before asking a general question that many may have asked before them. There's not much use fretting over these repeat questions, or trying to tell newbs to search, as there'll just be another newb who'll come along and ask the same question yet again after you've told the last one to search.
This forum has few resident users who use it over a longer period and/or check in regularly. I'd say it's a sign you've become one of these regulars if you begin to notice the repeats and they start to bother you. If you think the repeats bother you now, wait until you've been reading a while longer . |

Do we have a moderator that fequents the board that we could request some sort of "newbie" sticky at the top, along side the "know your rights" sticky which seems fairly useless? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? |

Speaking of repeats, the newbie sticky idea has been suggested before. |

I'm reminded of the halcyon days of my youth when I worked in resort mountain towns like Banff and Whistler. It was always so cute to see the kids that had been in town for two months call the kids that had been in town for two weeks "Gorbs". Cute.
Regardless of stickies, n00bs will always ask the same questions. The search function, barely does. As BW indicated, who wants to wade thru that mess of data?
Answer them or don't. No one is compelling anyone to write or respond or even read.
What I find exhausting is the insistence that they (the n00bs) use the search function. If you don't feel like providing an answer, why not do what I do? Don't.
Peace. |

I think that any time is okay. Just come prepared.
The Boy Scout motto offers similar advice. |
