Hi, I have a degree, a TESOL certificate, and have taught English in Japan and Taiwan. I am not a qualified teacher.
What are my prospects of obtaining a teaching job in Hong Kong?
Thanks for your help. |

I assume you're talking about being a NET ?
If so, as a previous poster has said, if the EMB can get applicants with teaching degrees, that's the preference. But if they can't get enough of those (and traditionally they can't !) then they take people with other degrees.
You'd get work in language centres, but pay is not good and unless you a) share accommodation b) have friends here that you can stay with c) live in some shoebox (scungy or otherwise) you will have to work at your language centre day and night (and a fair part of the weekend) to get enough $$ to live a decent life. |
