Did anyone see this report mentioned on the BBC website? It makes for interesting reading. I had no idea there were so many Brits in Argentina. More than in the Falkland Islands!?

Wherever you go, there's always a United fan...
Actually, I've been in Mexico for a year and a half and haven't met one Brit yet. I've heard the occasional accent whilst walking around but never met one. |

My life likes to say that wherever you go, you find a Filipino. How true that is. |

Strange. On our campus, seven out of 15 English language instructors are British, but I imagine we might be an exception to the rule.

Only 3 native English speakers -- two Brits and one American -- out of 15+ EFL teachers in the department of foreign languages at the university where I teach. |

Maybe I can come and work there. My accent is slowly being turned into a mid-Atlantic drawl by the North Americans I work with. I've even started using words like 'store' and 'gas'. Urrgh. |

I occasionally catch myself using expressions like I fancy and I'm keen on along with at the weekend. I'm not sure where I am when giving directions to get somewhere, what with turning into a street, something being located opposite something else, and the High Street, near the centre, and all. |

I went to the 'liquor store' the other day - that was a strange experience. |

I even find myself saying 'soccer' sometimes!! I know, I know - it's a disgrace for a Brit to say that... |

I'm back in my home country for a language injection, but I still say "bollocks" from time to time. Thankfully my trousers have once again become pants, and my pants undies. |
