Hi - I have been interested in teaching in Russia for awhile, and am taking a trip to St. Petersburg soon (from Dec 31-Jan 11). I figured I'd try and check the place out before I was to move there on a more permanent basis, to see how I like the place and all like that. I'm traveling alone, and was wondering if anyone felt like hanging out for a little bit during my stay. I am curious about living in Russia and teaching, but don't worry, I won't bombard you with questions the entire time. Let me know if that sounds good.
Also, I'm interested in checking out a few English schools while I'm there - speaking with the head of the school (or whoever would be hiring me) just to get a sense of the job and of the situation. I'd also really like to sit in on a few classes - both with children and college students/adults - to get a better feel for the job and the environment inside the classroom. If you know of any good schools that would be worthwhile to check out, or if you'd let me sit in on a class or two of yours (and the school would be OK with that), please let me know (addresses and directions to the schools would help).
Thanks, Dave K (you can also email me at krem1234 at yahoo d.ot com) |
