Heading to Chiang Mai this week for a vacation with wife and 6 month old boy. We're debating whether or not to take a stroller with us. What's Chiang Mai like as far as being baby-friendly? If anyone could advise whether or not to take the stroller?
Also, are there many wireless hotspots for a laptop computer in Chiang Mai? |

I vote for taking the stroller. It's better to have it and not need it than to leave it home and wish you had brought it along. If you are spending anytime walking around, I think you'll be needing it there.
I have friends living in Chiang Mai and when I was out with them people (strangers) were always holding the baby. It's called "free babysitter." So don't be too shocked with many strangers trying to hold the baby. It's normal.... at least for my friends in Chiang Mai anyway. |

Leaving tomorrow... What about buying one there? Is that an option?
We have fairly big comprhensive one that isn't really suitable for travel. However, we were thinking about buying an inexpensive, lighter, simpler model before we go.
I am assuming these items are available and cheap in Chiang Mai... |

Thanks for all your help... We seemed to have solved our problem... We heard about a light and portable stroller at JUSCO for 2,000 yen with a JUSCO card. I went down there today on my motorbike and picked one up! That's right, 2,000 yen! It folds up and is only about 2.5kg or so. Amazing! I even took the little guy for a test run today with it and it seems to be adequate!
Now, gotta get to bed as we have to catch a 6:57 train tomorrow (today) AM.
Happy Holidays |
