Beat this:

A yarım ekmek tavuk dner for 1.50. Free delivery service available from a man who used to work in the hotel business and could help foreigners order on the phone because he speaks English. All of this was explained in Turkish. From Drt Mevsim dner evi in Beylikdz.

With such slick operators in town, I can see why you wouldn't want to take your chip van to Turkey ....

I am definitely going to learn a thing or two about portion control, cleanliness, service and price from him. I went in, he greeted me, invited me to a tea and knocked up a great yarım ekmek. The place was tiny but spotlessly clean and had a great atmosphere. He also offered soup and kuru fasulye. The yarım ekmek came in nice paper, in a bag with salt and serviettes and nicely tied-he may have spotted that I had my beers with me and long experience in the hospitality trade had no doubt taught him of the difficulty of carrying your beers whilst eating a yarım ekmek on the way home.

You are a more talented man than I Thrifty. I usually get the doner out of the way before making my beer purchase. Any updates on the best beer deals?

Migros are selling 1 litre plastic bottles of Tuborg Winter Beer (6%) for 2.60. A tremendous deal if you want to get wasted on the cheap.
There are loads of great wine and beer deals with your Migros card but my card was rejected at the checkout-it needs to be renewed or something so at the moment I can't take advantage.

Earlier in the year my Migros card was rejected(I think the machine couldn't read it) I just asked to get a new one. No probs. No extra costs.

Find a friend or family member who works for the Ko Hoilding group and get them to get you a ko family card 5-25 % off all ko owned companies... It adds up and you get better deals than with your standard piss poor Migros card..

That is a very good idea. I love the new Migros uniforms that have just come out. Really smart, tailored uniform-much better than the old one.

Some of the Migros girls really fill out their new uniforms.
