Not really the place, I apologise. There's not really many places to find people here though!

I'm looking for a flatmate in Taoyuan. I'm happy to either move into a spare room you have at your place, or to find a new place together. My budget is about 10,000 for rent, bills etc, but I'll consider more if it's a nice place!

If you can help, let me know!
Louise

You should know that, for the amount you are willing to pay, you can get a place of your own easily.

lou_la,

Do you have a local friend? Take this friend to the neighbourhood you want to live in. They will help you find a suitable place and negotiate (and co-sign) the lease for you. You can probably find yourself a nice 2 bdrm place of your own for that budget.

Remember, you'll need a 2 month deposit.

I know I can find a place for my own at that price, but I'd rather live with someone else. I get real lobnely living alaone, especially in somewhere like taoyuan.

I've been asking in a lot of places, but guards take one look at me and instantky say no, even though the building is plastered with ads. Grr....

Hi lou_la.

On the guards issue, you need to call the numbers on the ads and get the prospective landlords/ agents to come out to show the places. The guards can't let you in the building on your own. Your best bet for finding accomodation is your employer. Get them on it.

If you are looking for a roommate, I would suggest putting up a notice in teacher haunts. Granted there aren't that many around in Taoyuan. Try Jakes and Rodeos in Taoyuan. Have you been to the River pub or Joker's in Zhongli yet? Loads of teachers go to them. A notice in those places is sure to get you some results. In the mean time, I hope this post keeps your request near the top of the forum so potential flatmates can see it. Good luck. Very Happy
