I did Perupass, SEPA in Arequipa, it was long (12weeks) and intense, but i felt i gained a lot out of it. Arequipa is an awesome city. I totally recommend it. |

Question...how necessary is it to have TEFL certification? I haven't needed it to teach so far, since I teach free-lance through my own business here in the states, yet I am strongly considering taking advantage of Career/Professional development courses while down in Lima. What are the costs in USD/PEN? I'm not looking to spend thousands (in USD) on certification. Does anyone know anything about i-to-i? I've been entertaining the idea of doing the basic course online w/them. |

If ESL is your chosen field I would certianly recommend investing in a reputable certificate whether that be CELTA, TEFL or what have you. An online certificate will hold very little value. You are best going for a certifictae which is widely recognised such as CELTA and widely respected. |

It looks like I'm going to have to do my homework. There's so many options out there. |
