I'm a film buff ,like to go to the cinema a lot ,but just lately theres been nack all to see I mean just what films can you recall that were worth waiting for and watching in 2006 ?
So heres my list of some of my all time favourites, yes I know we have done this before but time has shown that lists and tastes change ,however the good classics still remain ,heres mine.
Best Western
The Magnificent seven, with Yul and Steve and Charlie and Jimmy and one or two others who are now all probably dead .Saw it recently on Digiturk a magic afternoons viewing, took me back 40 years, just awesome .
Best action adventure
Hard one this ,sorry for me its old 007 Mr Bond shaken not stirred ,yes it cliched and even dated but the special effects used created some of the good stuff we have just gotten to used to. All Bonds are good I think, except George Lazenby(whatever happened to him)
Best Science fiction
Gotta be Aliens and Predator, such off the wall stuff,I used to buy the comics as well ,how sad is that .
Thats generally the genres I go for I used to like a good horror like "Return of the living dead" but they stopped scaring the poo out of me a long time ago ,most days their more of a laugh . These days I teach them and work with them so its all a bit too samey for me .
Anyway guys and Gals whats yours? |

I'm in no way a film buff but the best films from last year were Borat and The Departed.
Best film ever(no one has ever heard of it and the only time I have seen a copy for sale was on e-bay for over a grand) Amongst Friends.
(This thread should get Tavsan to post) |

Got a copy of 'Dondurmam gaymak' yesterday but haven't watched it yet. |
I haven't seen it either because I heard it was pants. A case of Turkish newspapers talking up a film.
Did you know that only the US, India, China and Turkey don't export more than 50% of the films watched. These figures are from last year- I blame Cem Yilmaz and Gora. |
