I'd heard that if you have a visitor's visa all you have to do is take a ship out past the international boundary from Keelung and then come back. The cost is just 2,000 and you can get your tourist visa renewed. Is this true?

Otherwise, which route is the cheapest and what are the going rates these days?

I know this is old news and a worn out topic, but I just need quck info.

This may work to get a tourist visa after your visitor's visa runs out, but to get a visa that will be valid for enough time to get a new work visa, you'll need to go to hongkong or bangkok etc etc. and get a new visitor's visa.

At this time of year, it's pretty expensive for flights, so go asap.

There's a ferry to okinawa, but I don't know if there is a visa place there.
