I assume that some of you out there have international health insurance. What health insurance company do you use? Is it widely accepted and easy to use? How much do you pay?

Also, how many of you brought laptops? I have sort of an "old beater" laptop that I am thinking of bringing. Any thoughts?

Hey hows it goin

Ok health insurance I recommend you go to

www.moneysupermarket.com, its a price comparison site

Click on insurance, type in your preferance and you'll be presented with a list of gems to look through. Reason they're cheap is because they have deals with moneysupermarket who carry out all their web duties for them.

I however got my insurance direct with an online co called ACE traveller, find them on google.

Im here in chile for 6months and i paid around 94 pounds but im covered for everything inc loss of passposrt money, if my flight gets delayed i get money. Also insured for outddor activitied so I auditions for stuntmen for the next mission impossble film come up here in chile ill be first on the list. You can prob find cheaper tho.

Laptop, i didnt bring mine but only because I plan to travel budget around arg and peru and maybe brasil if time and money are nice to me, so rucksack and thats that.
If youre planning on staying in one place or something, then im sure you can leave your laptop at home when you travel. You'll prob make friends when youre here too so you could leave it with them when you travel or something, assuming youve come to chile to travel. You might be able to get it on your insuracne too but if you've got special thing on their like the new pre published first draught of harry potter novel you nicked from rowling or pictures of Mr T then id back them up on disk.

also more advice would be to keep it safe and with you when you travel. There are lots of internet cafes here tho in chile and theyre cheap too, you'll pay maybe 800 - 1,000 pesosan hour which isnt much for us westerners.

I didnt bring mine only cos i have some friggin excellent pics of Mr T in the nud. Nah just kiddin. Er yeah, if its a bit old, you got it insured and it wont break your heart if you loose it or it gets stolen then bring it. If youre feelings are differnet to the above mentioned then I consider otherwise. Above all do what you feel is correct.

I hope that advice was ok. Good luck and I hope you have an amazing time in chile

ch ch ch le le le viva chile

Nicky
