I've read a few bad reviews about Fountain School but they were dated 2 years ago. I cannot find any recent reviews so I"m wondering if the school has changed for the better. I am considering taking a job offer based on what the contract says and the answers I received from the principal herself and a current teacher there.
If anyone has ever worked for Fountain School in Zhuhai, I would like to hear from you before I sign their contract. Thanks. |

You didn't ask for personal opinions, but I'll offer mine anyway.
Why are teachers worth 10% less during the first 2 months of employment?
Why are teachers worth almost 20% less during the first 6 months of employment?
An implied incentive which, when thoughtfully considered, defies logic.
Are public holidays and paid vacation two different things?
May has 3 public holidays, October has 3 public holidays and January 1 is a public holiday. Employers MUST pay full-time employees for these non-work days.
So, 21 paid vacation days or 14 paid vacation days + 7 public holidays.
In fact, I suspect the May 'vacation' (and the October 'vacation') might be along the lines of;
Saturday
Sunday
Monday - public holiday
Tuesday - public holiday
Wednesday - public holiday
Thursday - paid vacation
Friday - paid vacation
Saturday
Sunday
I do lesson planning / preparation and end-of-term exam results and reports. I do them at home at a time that best suits me. Do they require you to do these at their office?
Add in placement interviews, and how much unpaid time are you required to spend at the office? |

With your typical North American attitude, why even post here sleeping beauty?
In North America it's everyone against everyone....
You will find it's often different in Asia, as you are the "minority."
Do whatever the F**** you want to do...no one gives a crap about the latest newbie hitting China with your attitude.
Post here a year from now, if you can. |
