Has anyone found somewhere to get it at a decent price? I paid 7 USD for 120 ml.

I can get it for S./12 or $4 USD. The solution is only for soft lenses.

Here in the States at Walmart....it's 355 ml or 12 fl oz. Contact lenses and Contact solution is considerably cheaper up here. I'll be bringing some bottles down to sell at the price I mentioned before.

I stocked up while I was there, but was looking for more down here in Lima. If you find a place let me know.

Did you get your contact lenses here in Peru? I was having daily disposables sent to me every 3 months but the last two sets have got lost in the post. I'm looking for a postie with eyesight as dodgy as mine!!

I can't wear hard lenses and would prefer the disposable ones to avoid the issue of solutions. Plus I lose everything and if I lose a pair of disposable lenses it's not as big an issue as losing real ones.

I see signs for contacts everywhere, but I'm not sure of the quality. I don't want to risk damaging my eyes, cos I'm a wimp like that.

You should have lasik done in the States. Last year I was there (in Peru) I saw lasik for $100 USD, but I was advised against it, because it was too new down there, and possibly dangerous. My mother-in-law works for an eye clinic in Miraflores and that is what she shared w/me. Here you can do it for as little as $300 per eye. In my case I only need it for my left eye. I was thinking about having it done down in Peru on this next trip, but for $1000 usd, I'd rather have it done here.

I don't know. I was recommended it by my doctor here and my insuracne, Pacifico Salud convers it. So I think it should be ok. Depnds where you get it done. With insurance it would be 700 total for me. Though I don't know if I can because my vision keeps getting worse.

Normally they will screen you first to determine whether or not you are a candidate. Up here many people who would be considered near legally blind have it done, and every person that I talk to who has done it has been very satisfied with the results. I haven't heard any complaints yet.
