I am going back to the States tomorrow from Thailand. Since I am being listed I have been advised I may be stalled transferring in Tokyo since the flight is overbooked. So there may be a possibility I may have to crash there for a night and then hopefully get on the next flight.
Can anyone recommend a decent, reasonably priced hotel that is close to the airport in Tokyo?
Thanks, much appreciated. :D |

No, because Tokyo is nowhere near the airport. It's in the neighbouring prefecture of Chiba, and about an hour away by train (and about 2,000 yen one way). So in order to get into central Tokyo, it'll cost you $40, plus whatever other transportation, food and lodging expenses you will incur. Then, the bare-bones cheapest I've seen in Tokyo is between 2,500 to 3,000 for a dormitory-style hostel bed.
As for cheap rooms near the airport, I've never heard of anything... Everything/everyone that's remotely near the airport know it and will charge their prices accordingly. Try a Google search, or you can even try the Narita homepage, but don't hold your breath. |

For real, "cheap" and "near the airport" pretty much do not compute, even back home. You might be able to find a capsule hotel for 3-5000 yen a night, a business hotel for about 6-10000. |
