I have been asked to recruit teachers for a school in the Nagoya area, the new contract states that teachers will be paid at a reduced rate for the first month as they will be on probation. I have heard that this is actually illegal? Is this true?? any info warmly appreciated. I dont want to recruit if the company is dodgy. |

legalities aside, it's a good way of discouraging decent teachers from applying. |

Nova pay a probationary salary for the first 2-3 months. Course that doesn't necessarily make it legal... |

Even Japanese business people get lower pay for probationary periods, and during that time, they may not even get insurance copayments by the company. |
