|
|
I will be in RAK in less than 2 weeks (with other new-hires for the HCT system). I will have a hectic time getting squared away, settled in, and doing the HCT briefings before classes start. That said, I want to get started on some exercise program asap. Swimming pools for laps? Are there any 25m or 50m pools in RAK? Or should I look at doing something else for exercise (on a close to daily basis)? TIA for any info |

The major hotels eg Hilton in RAK have swimming pools but usually charge a fee otherwise there's the Gulf! |

You'll probably be put in a hotel for your first week and the hotel will probably have a pool. If they haven't already told you where you'll be staying on arrival, you should get in touch with the HR rep. |

Yup! You got it. I will be in a hotel (for 6 days) and there are nice facilities at the hotel - for which I am really grateful! However, as I expect to live in RAK for some time (IOW, I have come here for work to do, not for a vacation from North America) the long term issue of exercise (aka swimming laps) is still there...
Any other suggestions for exercise? I have a fused ankle so I cannot run/jog/... |

Good luck, tmac. A couple of my friends have been in HCT RAK for years, and love the pace of life in that emirate. |
