				| Volleyball Does anyone know if there's a gym that offers indoor volleyball around Moscow during the fall/winter season? I wanted to join a team or just do drop-in. I'm looking to stay fit over the chilly season.

 X-Country Skiing
Also, is it cheap to buy x-country skis or can you rent them somewhere? Do you know how much it costs to buy/rent? Any recommended areas for x-country skiing in and around the city?

 Thanks!

				| Sorry- I've not checked in here for a while.... OK- Skiing- there are lots of shops where skis can be bought-www.kant.ru
but I have friends that sometimes go ti Finland to buy gear to save $$$. I'm not a skiier myself rather a runner/snowshoe-er, but there are ENDLESS possibilities for xc skiing in and around Moscow. I happen to be 3 min from the trails and love stepping out my door and into the woods
   Try-
 Krasnogorsk-NW burb
Litkarino-SE burb near Lyubertsy -GREAT HILLS
   Kuzminki
 Sokolniki
 Izmailovsky
 Serebrenny Bor
 Filevsky Park

As for vollleyball.....I work out on the indoor track and wt room at Moskvich at Tekstilshiki Jan-late March 2-3 times a week getting ready for the spring season. They have volleyball there, but not sure if it's open to everyone or just the kids as it's also a SPORTS SCHOOL. My boyfriend is one of the managers at another sports school that specializes in volleyball . If they sell adult passes, I'll post info here, but it's in Kozhukovskaya (also way down in SE). Alternatively, there are many other health clubs like planeta fitness. I've been going to Moskvich for almost 5 yrs now since the time Coach used to rent the plae out just for us and because it's 12 min from my doorstep.

				| Get off the metro. You'd be amazed as how navigable it is by foot, at least from w/in a few stops outside the circle.
Plus, it *could* even save you time. No kidding.
I guess this is not the time of year for it, but tuck this idea into the back of your mind for a couple of months from now.
