For most of the teaching contracts out there, Can people find new employment while they are under contract? Meaning; they will quit their current teaching job and find a local job???
Whats the normal duration for a contract ?? 3months, 6 m, 2years???
I have 2 experiences in teaching Computer/Business in English; Can I teach that instead of English??And which schools will most likely looking for people like this??? |

Standard contracts are for 6 or 12 months. Some English College [mill] setups may just hire on a per lesson basis, if you don't mind where your next meal's coming from. Not recommended. Take a contract that offers a visa and accommodation [or a reasonable allowance].
Yes, you can look for other work and negotiate your next job, but contract breaking is strongly frowned on. Often you'll need to be "signed off" by your previous employer before a new one can take you on.
Most people who break contracts do so in extreme circumstances. |

If you dischrage your contractual obligations towards your employer he will most likely give you the needed release letter so that you can legally move to a new job. Some employers do baulk at cooperating with you on that stage of your stint, but in the end most will sign such a release letter.
The two subjects you are most interested in teaching in China are not the most commonly offered to laowais; language might be a problem. The few that do teach such subjects have to modify their teaching to suit local abilities. |
