I'll be leaving in 2 weeks. How can I make sure my employer will send in the paperwork so I can collect my MPF check? Has anyone ever had any problems getting their check because the employer wasn't timely in submitting the termination of contract letter?

There is a procedure to go through. You have to submit a statuatory declaration with your application for MPF to state that you are leaving Hong Kong and will not be returning to enable you to withdraw it.
I suggest you find out exactly what the procedure is and then make sure you complete everything before you leave and then have the money paid into an account. I expect, like the gratuity, you will have to have paid your tax etc to be able to claim it.

I recall that I had the MPF provider forward me a check of the reimbursed sum to an overseas address as it took more than a month upon my completion of a contract to get it back. Make sure you pop into your MPF offices to get forwarding addresses arranged if you are leaving the country shortly after your employment ends.
