Hey are there any smoking laws in Chile? For example are you aloud to smoke anywhere or are there no smoking places. The reason that i ask is that if you can smoke almost anywhere then i will need to pack more med.'s since my breathing can get messed up when i'm around smoke. |

There are laws governing normal places where you can't smoke like banks etc and a new one is being introduced soon which will ban smoking in bars, restaurants etc (although i have the impression it's almost going to optional). If your breathing is sensitive then Santiago will be hell for you; the pollution, especially in winter, can a real problem and some people suffer from alergic reactions. |

its not usually bad, just when i get colds and when the weather is really cold. I don't think that I will have a lot of problems unless I get sick, the only other time that I find my breathing is bad is if I'm in a car with smokers. Smog doesn't seem to bother me to much (again unless its really cold).
if Santiago seems to bother me then I'll just move to one of the smaller cities and hopefully that will be o.k.
thanks for the info though |
