Hi - My partner and I live in Chiba, just outside the Tokyo metro area. We will be relocating to Funabashi, Kashiwa, or Matsudo in April to be closer to Tokyo. A major factor in our relocation is our search for a Japanese language school.
We just passed the JLPT 3, and we are looking to take the Level 2 in December, so we'd like to take evening lessons two or three times a week. We are ALTs and work during the day, so daytime courses are not an option. We have done community center classes in the past, but our experience has been that the teaching is poor and the pace is too slow for our needs. We need to be studying kanji, reading and writing for the exam, so conversation-only classes won't work.
We've looked at the websites for a bunch of schools in Tokyo, and we are also considering a summer intensive course. Does anyone have any experience with a language school that they could recommend? Any information about Kai, Nichibei, Meguro, etc.?
We will be using this information to help us choose the location of our next apartment, so that we can keep our commute times to an hour or less. Your help would be appreciated! |
