Doing a visa run to HK. I have done all of the research that I can do on the topic. Anyone with personal stories about how smoothly it goes? I am an American and have a recently cancelled ARC (I'm switching jobs, but have to leave the country to get a 60-day visa because there will be a gap between the cancellation of my work visa and the application of my new one). Am stating that I will be a student in the US starting Sept 07 and wish to remain in Taiwan until I have to go to school.

How much does the "proof of funds" have to show? How many questions do they ask? Etc. etc. etc.

Thank you for ANY informatino you can provide.

I personally know people that did it in one day. Early flight from Taipei to HK, apply at the office in the morning, get the same day service, pick up visa by 3-4pm, and fly back to Taiwan that night.

That's pretty painless if you ask me. Surprised
