Hello! Fist time poster, long time reader.

I'm wonderng how picky is being too picky when choosing a private school to teach at for someone, and this part is important, for someone who is new to it all and does not have the major qualifications.

Like most newbies sitting in the comfort of their own home, far away from China, I want the best deal handed to me, but I know that this is silly and have come to grips with alot of realities that face me in choosing.

For some backround: I have a two year diploma in business and a small amount of teaching experience, along with some good business experience. I've saved enough money to go back to school and finish my degree, but am interested in teaching, especially communications at all levels. I see China as a great place to get some experience.

So what are peoples' thoughts here.

My thoughts are that perhaps you should do some more teaching. When you say some "teaching" I am guessing it is not much, and not at an academic level, perhaps some kind of training, this is a little different.

I think that, if you were saving money to finish you're degree, then maybe that is what you should do.

My Bayden, you do have a very circumspect list of expectations that we all must conform to, and if we do not, we are trolls.

Hmm, the use of the words, "My thoughts" when someone ask for your thoughts makes you a troll? Perhaps that is just what you would like others to think Bayden, maybe the real troll is you Wink

Nothing to do with asking for thoughts.
Have you not noticed a plethora of posts VERY similar to this in content and style lately?
One every week at least.
almost qualified, wants the best deal, doesn't want to go back to school etc. etc.
Remember 'Want to be so-so Teacher in China'?
No Nathan, not a troll, a skeptic.

Bayden, like I said, al we need to do is look at "your" posting history. One liners, personal attaxcks, little actually written at all, just your casting dispersions. If that ain't a troll, I don't know what is buddy.

Oh, but do keep your list of what "you" think a troll is, I'm sure you behavior is no where on that list of course. Later Wink

Not clear enough why you would want to come to China. Besides, China is a big concept. What's your idea of this society?

my thoughts..it is not a great place to get experience..it is a great place to go after you have experience...
stay at home and get a job..make yourself a career...save money and travel in your spare/off time..

LOL, Bayden, I see now from our conversation you were refering to the OP, not me. NOw that I have read the OP, I see one or two very minor things that make me question it's validity as well. I think we have a troll here.
