Hi,

wondered if anyone could give me some handy tips on teaching in Peru?
What is the experience like? Is it easy to find work. Thinking mainly about Lima so would love to hear from anyone teaching there - salary, availability of work, good schools etc. Also what is the best area to rent in Lima and where can you find apartments advertised. They'll be three of us...me, my partner and our baby daughter.
Saxoncourt offer a one year contract teaching in Lima - does anyone know about that?
Question, questions!
Any info gratefully received! Thanks. Very Happy

HI,
Start by reading the Ultimate Peru List, there's tons of info there.

finding work depends on qualifications and experience. It's easy to find work, but it might not pay well. For good paying jobs you will need both qualifications and experience and can earn up to 2000 USD a month with paid summer vacations if you can get into a top school like Roosevel. Otherwise, you'll be earning about 500 USD and working long hours at a language school.

Schools start now in March. Universities are also good places, but maybe require you to have residency.

Why Lima? There are nicer places, such as Trujillo and Arequipa.

If you need more info, PM me
