When do classes usually end in December for those working in institutes? I'm planning on coming to BA in August to teach until December and wonder when I should book my ticket home for Xmas. Also, will there be in institutes hiring in August do you think? I've taught in BA before, but I came in March when classes were starting and only stayed til June. Pleae help. Thanks!

Hi,

My classes ended around about the second week of December, other institutes ended earlier, some later but I was done with my classes, around Dec 15. I'm in between countries now, was all ready to move to Japan in Dec BUT some family matters has delayed all that. I started my EFL career in Spain (Madrid to be exact), then Aug. 2005 moved to BsAs, stayed through to Dec 2006. I did find work in Aug, but again I was a graduate of a TEFL school that had a great job placement service so they pretty much started my job search for me. Based on my experience looking for work in BsAs in Aug, I don't see why you'll have a problem. Good luck.

Madrid, Buenos Aires ... hmmm ... something tells me we might have studied at the same school (EBC) ? , anyways, was happy with them in both cities so I don't mind putting in a good word for them. But what I want to know is .... how was teaching in BsAs for you? Did you find the students soooo different in terms of interest, ability, motivation etc, etc. Personally I thought my Argentine students were more serious about their classes, my Spanish students weren't too bad, but they seemed to have more of the "I don't care, my company is paying for my classes drift!". What did you think?

One thing for sure both cities were awesome, they really knew how to have fun and stay up late! And I mean late, I'm talking clubbing till 6 am, 7am! I'm afraid I couldn't keep up with my friends in both cities, had to get home a lot earlier than them!! Wink Cool Enjoy!
