I am soon to start working in the Gang-an English Training School in Foshan. I have read some very critical reviews on this site about the school which has made me nervous. Has anyone heard anything positive from the school to reassure me?
Also, what is Shunde like as a place to live and will anyone be there or in Guangdong from March as it would be great to meet some other western teachers? |

I have posted a number of utterly negative posts on Gang'an because I happen to know the history of that outfit as it evolved over ca. 5 years.
A more devious person than the then owner who went by the name of 'Angela', I believe to recall I have seldom met!
She did allow me to talk to two of her then FTs - both Filippinas. I also already knew a Nigerian on her payroll.
The training centre is not in Foshan proper but in Shunde - ca. 20 kms distant.
Shunde is a nice quaint town, nothing spectacular though a wealthy community. I like Shunde much better than Foshan even though Shunde has little to show off; it's quaint and clean and it has what I like to call "character".
I frequently go there; shopping is excellent. You might refer to that part of Shunde as "Daliang" rather than Shunde, which is a county turned into a "city" merged with Foshan. |
