Hello,
I have been working recently at the university level in China. I will be getting my masters degree soon and look to teach at university level in Vietnam. Could you please tell me when the University/College term starts in Vietnam and if many foreigners teach at the College/University level. The reason that I ask is because most schools in China start in August or September, but I know that different countries have different systems and I am interested to know when the school year starts. Thank you for your help.

Here another thread about university teaching job in Vietnam:

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/job/viewtopic.php?t=46823

Basically, university teaching jobs in Vietnam sucks. It's almost no different than any other language school jobs.

If you're looking for a better (real) university teaching job with your master's degree, look into coming to Korea. They're hiring now for the March start and second round of hiring season is during mid-term which is in August.

The uni jobs in Korea usually pays you $2-3.5 thousand for teaching average of 15 hours a week with full benefits including free housing, medical(paid 1/2), pension (paid 1/2), severance pay (1 months salary annually). Also uni jobs are great because you get almost 4 months of paid vacation.

So compare and you decide. Good luck.
