Hi! I need your help! I realize this is not a teaching question but would appreciate your help anyways. I will be visiting my sponsored child who lives in a rural community just south of the city of Chiquimula Guatemala. Do you know anything about this part of Guatemala? Anything I should know? Things to do and things to absolutely not do? What about transportation and places to stay. Anything related to health I should be concerned with (malaria, dengue, food, water???). Thanks for your help!! |

Since no one else responded, I will. I spent a night in Chiquimula, Guatemala more than 10 years ago. I am sure a lot has changed since then.
Hotels? I stayed in an old hotel that quality was low. I didn't look for other hotels. You can check out a Lonely Planet guide book for help.
Transport? I easily found bus transport into the city and out of it into Guatemala City.
Health? Typical health concerns for a third world country, like food, water, malaria and dengue. |
