Depends on so many things, Rajesh. If you have a related BA and two or more years' experience, are a native speaker and can impress the recruiter, you don't need a TEFL/TESOL certificate. If, however, you don't have those things, the certificate is unlikely to redeem you in their eyes. Still, some of the language schools are less structured, and if you pick your time well, you might strike it lucky.

On the whole, an online TEFL course might help someone with no experience, but you are probably better off getting a more respected qualification (CELTA/DELTA). And nothing in the world makes up for experience.

An online MA may be helpful, but most places do not accept online Certs because it is assumed that Certs provide supervised classroom experience - which is impossible to do online.

Dear Rajesh,

As said, nothing in the world makes up for experience. And being a native speaker would help.

However, you have the advantage of being from the Indian sub-continent where you are likely to have been exposed to English, almost throughout your learning life and therefore, you should be able to impress the recruiter/s, provided you pay that extra little bit of attention to grammar, whilst composing your sentences.

All the same, best of luck in your endeavour and keep posting.
